After a short-lived stint in consulting, Katharine dove into retail entrepreneurship and has been on the frontlines of retail renaissance ever since.
During her early days as a consultant, Katharine honed her operational expertise while refining her ability to analyze data in order to make precise, and impactful decisions. As adept with people as she is with information, Katharine soon found herself opening an innovative retail concept in Stowe, VT which catalyzed her to reinvent the power of storefront, profitably. With her proven ability to identify brands and help the founders behind them drive profitability, she (and partner Kaity) later opened a profitable-from-day-one retail concept and scaled to three doors in less than two-years. At For Now, Katharine’s proven success in positioning and scaling brands through various growth stages is born of her work with over 150 emerging, high-potential brands.
With her prowess for business operations, Katharine ReQua utilizes her passion for retail along with her innate creative decision making as a co-founder of For Now. Katharine’s inspiration in the development of For Later lies in her belief that there are many ways in which she and her partners can help founders grow their businesses, her affection for the retail industry. She believes in a founder-first approach and is especially fond of those who build brands that are motivated by their own personal philosophies.
When Katharine is not deep in data or strategizing with a founder, she can be found on the tennis court, skiing, or enjoying the coast of Maine. She’s an active mentor with Babson Win Lab and Nantucket Island Center for Entrepreneurship. Katharine holds a BA + Masters in Communications from The University of Maine, Orono and her MBA from Babson. She resides in Boston.
